About

Our Purpose:

The Monday Prayer is a Lectionary-based, Biblically-founded, prayer-focused newsletter intended to challenge followers of Jesus Christ to the discipline of regular prayer, to promote sound biblical doctrine, and to reinforce the lessons of Sunday worship for practical living throughout the week.

Our Origin:

The Monday Prayer began as a weekly email for a church prayer ministry, circulating meeting times and prayer requests. Because we met on Mondays, the email subject line usually read “Prayer Today” or “Prayer Monday”. As the ministry (and the email) grew, we began to add encouraging scriptures and quotes, plus snippets from well-founded Christian theologians and thinkers. The email evolved into a newsletter of sorts. We adopted the name The Monday Prayer. Before long, we were sending to over 100 addressees on four continents. We also discovered we had reached the limits of our email service.

So, after a break to reconfigure as a blog, The Monday Prayer is back. We are still learning about what makes a good blog, so please feel free to offer up suggestions and critiques. We pray that our readers will be encouraged in their Christian walk, making “level paths for your feet and take only ways that are firm” (Proverbs 4:26).

This means so very much to me; it has become an essential part of my “Munday-school” time. I rejoice for for the fruits of your labor and thank the Source of All for your faithfulness. God has blessed your efforts, indeed! May He continue to pour His blessings upon you.

  2. Thank you, Judi. We very much appreciate your encouragement. We miss praying with you on Monday mornings with Miss Polly. God bless and keep you.
